    On day 1, Maha Governor pays Tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dr Ambedkar and Veer Savarkar Memorial

     On the first day after assuming office, Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma offered floral tributes to the equestrian statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Dadar, Mumbai on Wed (11 Mar). Mayor of Mumbai Ritu Tawde was also present.

    Thereafter, the Governor visited Chaityabhoomi and paid floral tributes at the memorial of the architect of the Constitution Bharat Ratna Dr B. R. Ambedkar. The Trisharan Buddha Vandana was recited in the presence of the Governor.

    Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, Bhante Dr Rahul Bodhi Mahathero, General Secretary of the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Din Samanvay Samiti Nagasen Kamble were present. Pratap Kamble, Bhikaji Kamble and Pratik Kamble from the Indian Buddhist Mahasabha presented a copy of the Constitution to the Governor.

    Governor Jishnu Dev Varma also visited the Swatantryaveer Savarkar National Memorial and paid floral tributes to the bust of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, former Member of Parliament Rahul Shewale, Executive President of the memorial Ranjit Savarkar and Treasurer Manjiri Marathe were present. The Governor was presented with a memento of Veer Savarkar as well as books on Savarkar.
